Youth Healing & Gun Violence Prevention

Initiative

Protecting Our Youth. Strengthening Families. Healing Our Community.

Gun violence continues to impact families across King County and young people are often the most affected. In recent years, firearm-related injuries increased across the region, with youth and young adults disproportionately impacted. Beyond the headlines, the deeper impact shows up in trauma, grief, anxiety, school disengagement, and fractured family stability.

At DFHN, we know violence prevention starts with healing.

The Youth Healing & Violence Prevention Initiative is rooted in our mission to create safe spaces where young people can process trauma, build leadership, and develop a strong sense of identity and purpose. We believe when youth are connected to mentorship, culturally grounded support, and opportunity, cycles of violence can be interrupted.
